Sony NEX-7

Hi all,

I was browsing, looking for a compact camera to go along with my 400D. This new Sony NEX 7 does look quite impressive, the lack of view finder on these more compact cameras has not always tempted me, but this having an OLED one does look good, if it does get good reviews I would be almost tempted to use it as a main camera.. There is a November launch, the only thing to me not looking good is its £1200 asking price

Nex are pretty good, large sensor which is good, but means larger lenses.

Look at the 43rds/mtf stuff as an alternate, e-p3 and GF3 etc.

Whilst on the subject of 4/3 cameras. Is anyone using Canon FD lenses on a 4/3 body, if so which one?

I have a number of quite nice FD lenses and was thinking of getting a used Sony Nex just for those. Problem is, none of the previous Nex range have a view finder, which I would prefer.

You're looking for a compact to go alongside your 400D.

Seems to me your 'compact' is almost as big as the DSLR and twice the price!
