I am a fan of the King Kong films, I suppose stems from when I was a child and the old 1939 Empire State Building one was really scary in those days.
The thing that always foxes me though is this...
Your a tribe of inhabitants of an island, you share the island with 60 foot tall monster gorilla.
You are a tribes person, living inside a village, surrounded by a 70 foot wall.
Every now and then they sacrifice a woman, outside the compound to keep Kong on side so to speak,
Anyhow they go out tie up the woman and then call Kong, the excitement rises Kong is coming, the trees are shaking, and the tribes people think Christ, he's on his way lets get back inside, they all run inside the compound, drums banging people shouting, excitement rising, they all get together to heave to close the massive 70 foot high doors and push those greased tree trunks across,to bar the compound doors, and stop Kong getting in.......
My problem with this is if, the tribes people who are say 5-6 foot tall, and wanted to keep Kong out, why did they build the compound doors 70 foot tall, why didn't they just build a normal door.. big enough for them to get in and out........
Anyone else have any similar observations of films or tv

Ha Ha yes 6 foot door in the side, although I don't think a 60 foot gorilla would have trouble getting over the 70 foot wall but hey ho I just thought they hadn't thought it through when making the doors

You know the bit where Indiana Jones has torun away from the huge stone ball rolling towards him?

If he actually ran towards it as it started rolling he could have ducked down between the 2 ramps the ball rolled down and he'd have been just fine :-p

A part in Land of the Dead (happens in all Zombie type films) where a soldier is in a tower at the entrance of a gate where the zombies break through, he zip lines off the tower straight into the zombie horde path and gets mauled. He could have just stayed up there, picked off the stray zombies and survived.

The ball doesn't seal the chamber though?

Might have to watch it tonight!

There is a murderer around...

The person hear noises, then thinks "I'll just go take a look downstairs" with no weapon....

Similarly in the original Dawn Of The Dead one of the protagonists stops to check his blood pressure just as the zombies break into the shopping mall and suprisingly gets eaten. I get the humour but surely he should have either done it earlier or not at all!

More of a why didn't you do that. Ripley should have checked the Sulaco's cargo bay at the end of Aliens to make sure there weren't any surprises left behind by the alien queen she let out the airlock. But then there wouldn't have been a 3rd film.

Running from a killer in the woods... Rather than being quiet, and hiding in a bush, (bloody difficult to see someone still, sat in a bush), they run around, screaming and crashing through branches, and so on and so forth. I'm glad they get caught and slaughtered.

people getting chased by cars / other fast moving objects, always try to run away from said object, rather then turning to the side

usually there are multiple opportunities to escape in this manner, yet they do not.

I wish they would get ran down and squished more often, fools.

They were coming from different sides of the continent and Roswell is nearer one side than the other...

Perfect example, car falling through the tree in Jurassic Park, take two steps to the left or right and avoid falling car or climb down the tree as the car falls straight towards you from above? Not too bright.
