I have finally got my plates etc sorted, bought the plates and thought no problem to fit them.

Then found I have to drill them myself, still not a problem at all, then when I go out to my car (A 2007 MINI Cooper S if that matters) I find it does not have the normal caps that pop off with a screw inside holding them on.

Well actually, it might have those caps but if it does i'll be buggered if I can get them off, normally there is a little lip on them that just pops off but it appears not to be the case in this scenario its just a plastic mould that goes all the way to the number plate.

Any suggestions? I didn't really want to take pliers or something to them as it'll mark the plastic.

I've recently chsnge the plates on my wife's 2007 MCS.

Use a small flat screw driver at the base of the "cover" and work it until the cover starts to move. Once it moves use the screwdriver to prise the cover from the bottom where the gap has appeared.

Sounds simple enough, I wasn't sure if there was actually going to be a screw under there if i started prising it off or if it was some new fangled overly complicated device like everything else on the MINI. I wouldn't change it for the world though!

Cheers.

If you find you damage them drop me a PM and I'll pop some cap things in the post for you FOC. I've only got white and yellow at the moment, but they're yours if needed.
