Subaru 6sp padel shift box - ?

Just wondering if anyone knowes it one of the 6spd boxes out of the Subaru could be fitted?
would need to convert to 2wd but the rest of it looks like a well sorted set up. there is a vid on u tube of if going through the gears

Not sure why you'd want a Subaru box. They're not exactly strong as standard, even when modded they're the typical weak link in hi powered Imprezas.
It's not 'out' of a Subaru it's a race box to put into a Subaru.Note I said 'race box' so IMHO no way suited to a road car.

Was just looking at it for a few reasons,
there is no where around hear that i could use an Ultima for more than a second before id be in license loosing territory. 30km/h (18mph) over the limit – which is 100km/h (60mph) and you would lose your licence for 6 months. So with that in mind thinking of building more towards a track spec. To that end I don’t think the top speed would need to be much over 300km/h (186mph) as there just are not that many tracks close enough to me where it is an issue.
The 6spd Subaru boxes are probably 1/3 to ¼ the cost of a GT3 box, but i then need to add in an adaptor and flywheel and 2wd conversion so it’s not that simple and costs might rise a bit. The local Subaru’s seem quicker or as quick as the porkers so I assumed that the gearboxes would be reasonable given that they are delivering pace on the circuit.
Still, looked like a nice shift system.

Everyone says Subaru boxes are like glass but having seen the way those that suffer regular failures drive or the use the car gets it is no surprise to me that people get that feeling! An AWD car is always going to load up the transmission more than a 2WD car but add on to that semi slicks, lots of turbo torque and dialling up 5000RPM before stepping off the clutch and of course there is a good chance something will snap.
Just a point of reference for those who like to stay informed. I am on my third subie, a 02 WRX, a 04 STI and now a 2011 STI. 72K on the 02, 100k on the 04. Not a problem at all, not one in 172,000 miles. Total repairs besides oil filters tires ect. A set of rotors and pads, a set of plugs and a cam belt on the 04 at 92k. Both of the cars had some mods in them the 04 probably made 50 to 60 hp over stock. The tranny in the 04 is the 6 speed that is a upgrade over the 5 speed in the 02 in being able to handle power. All that said I still wound't think about the Subie box for the Ultima, way to many potentail problems, stick with the g50 or 997 box you'll have plenty of issues to keep you entertained during the build without inventing new ones.
