Anybody Know These Two Cerbs?

I realise one has been damaged & repaired, but it appears pretty cheap.

Personally, I'd go for the straight, unmolested, low mileage v8 every time.

The crash damage on the other one looks fairly substantial, I'd worry about the speed 6 (especially if there is no service history) and the fact it's a CAT C car so the difficulties of resale. It's also not painted yet, so there's some immediate cost which will close the gap on undamaged cars.

The red car has been advertised for several months, and could probably be yours for significant discount. The blue car would be my choice of the two without any hesitation at all. If the price is a concern then Trevsked's 4.2 might be a possibility at a grand less.

I'm kind of getting that vibe, and it's a V8, which sound way better IMHO.

Just need to research a little bit just how ruinous Cerbera ownership could be, the other option being a Bentley Turbo R or an Elan +2

Yep, my only real requirement is that it will seat 2 adults, 2 children & must be interesting.

Not really, as long as I can DIY most of the repairs, just not ruinously expensive.

Will get used only when the weather is good (if it starts)

I'd avoid the red one at all costs.

The blue one looks good and I considered it but ended up buying a nice 4.5 although think the blue 4.2 would have been the better condition car. A few times I've wondered if I made the right choice. The sellers helpful and friendly too.

That blue one looks gorgeous, but awfully cheap. That would be my choice every day of the week - the classic combination too, single headlights and 16s.

Blimey, I was hoping that Cerb values would firm up at some point, but it's not looking like that atm...

If the chassis is good then the blue one looks like a bargain - get it bought!

The seller of the red one has a real problem too, made him an offer, admittedly a really cheeky one, and he came back with a torrent of abuse.

These guys (TVR Dean) really don't have a very good reputation in the TVR fraternity. I can't make comments from personal perspective, but it seems like they're not the straight-laced company they'd lead you to believe. I wouldn't touch that red Cerbera with a bargepole - for £10995 there's a lovely 1999 Speed Six in Hebrides Halycon with full Mulberry interior, 35k miles, full engine rebuild by TVR Power at 31k, new clutch. All you'd need to do is make sure the chassis is in good shape and you could be onto a winner. Boy, I'm tempted myself...
