What a choice!
Discussion
Hi Barry,
I don't honestly think theres a lot to choose as far as engines go, you will find and equally stronmg argument in both camps but personally I like to have 8 cylinders.
As far as extras go, where do you start really, depends what your spec is...give us all more details on what you've ordered, colours etc
Well doen for buying what is still the most beautiful car in production

Fair play, if I could afford a brand new one I wouldn't think twice.
Full leather and air conditioning definately, 18" spiders probably, and make sure it's a nice colour and the interior matches it. PERSONALLY I like two tone interiors
The rest is mainly up to your tastes (Well, I suppose it all is really, if you want it they'll build it!).

Hi Barry,
Go for broke and get what you want. One word of caution on your interior choice, make sure the cover of the dash and the dash instruments is a dark colour. Mine's a light grey and in sunlight the pod reflects light on the windscreen something awful, almost a strobe effect with the sun through trees on a country lane etc. It's look great but it's bloody awful. Just personal choice, but stay away from the light - go to the dark!!

Baz, MOST people on here haven't been lucky enough to spec our cars from new...we are only jealous!! Purely for resale I would take care not to make it TOO personal, by which I am really referring to a West Hamised Cerb that Gorners had in recently. I would def go for aircon, but as has been said...its all about taste man!!
Good luck, get that bonfire stoked up!!

Nice 4.5 RR !!! Hmmm - cheaper than a new speed 6 etc

Hmmm - but the depreciation on a new cerb is outrageous. Particularly speed 6 and 4.2s
Look at above link.
It is ok if you can find a private buyer rather than a garage or a trade in. But not many private punters after cars under 2 yrs old.
If money is no object then go for it.

Barry,
I was in the fortunate position 3 years ago of speccing a new Cerb SP6.
Engine wise, you should talk to your dealer about SP6 options if you want to go for that. The SP6 in my car in a 4L, 350BHP. I'm not sure whether this engine is available anymore - the standard Tuscan has a 3.6L and the 4.0L tuscan S engine produces 390BHP. Perhaps even the T400R engine might be possible.
Things I got which I like:
a) DAB radio (but get them to hide the aerial in the boot. Mine's on the roof and spoils the lines somewhat).
b) extra leather on transmission tunnel, dashtop
c) Quad lamps (standard now I believe).
Things I should have got but didn't:
a) full leather interior
b) 18in wheels
Things I got which I wouldn't again:
a) heated front screen - complete waste of money!
Enjoy the experience and make sure you go to the factory to see the car in build.
Best of luck!

Was just thinking that...
Well done and I hope the experience meets all your expectations!
Personally I would go for the V8 but the Speed 6 is the way TVR are going.
I would also think about the options list and your colour choices - I'm the second owner on my car and the first owner took a right old hit on it because of his colour choice on the interior.
Also you should consider aircon and if you can stretch to it full leather. It's only my opinion but you'd probably find that if you spent the option money on full leather over a seriously fancy paint like a reflex colour your residuals would hold better...
I always think its a big reponsibility to spec your car from new. It's a lot of dough to shell out and if it ends up looking like a dogs breakfast its your fault!
Whatever you choose you'll love it and I am and will remain deeply jealous!
Enjoy!
All the best
