Sat nav/computer problem x3

Hi all,

Just drove down from Scotland to London today in the x3, and for the first time the sat nav started playing up, freezing and then starting again, now its completely frozen and the pop up screen is fixed and no button bashing will provoke any response at all!

Any ideas how to do a restart on the software? I've tried switching on and off the ignition, but to no effect!

I've thought about trying to disconnect the battery tonight and see if that helps, but any other suggestions?

It's a 2006 BMW x3 with the dash mounted pop up sat nav option.

Try pulling the fuse?

I had the CD changer pack up on my last car (A5). Pulled the fuse and it 'rebooted'.
