Some friends have got me to book them some flights, and i need to check them in using the Online service, but i've just noticed i've misspelt one of their names, just the last two letters mixed up.

Does anyone know if this will cause any issue/cost money to put right?

I bet there will be a charge yes

Edit

this says £70 but that's to change the person, may be a similar charge.

If it's Lee's ticket you'll be fine.

Get them to change their name to the misspell by deed poll.

I'd be inclined to just go. In my experience they don't cross reference that closely. If the name was totally different they might notice at the gate, but a couple of letters difference I doubt it. I'd probably just chance it.

If you ask them then they'll certainly charge you whatever the cost is to transfer the ticket (lots). If the tickets on the flight are still available for very cheap maybe book another?

yes

Cheaper and easier than trying to deal with any changes on Ryan Air or Easyjet.

I was speaking to a friend about this the other day. He got one letter wrong for an easyjet flight and they stopped him, and tried to charge him £70. He kicked up a massive fuss, refused to moved out the line etc etc and they eventually caved.

I can't remember the company but my two mates that are brothers bought flights and listed their forenames as Tim and Dan however their passports are Timothy and Daniel ... they had to pay for two name changes at the check-in desk!

I entered my passport number incorrectly once during a heavy drinking sesh the night before flying, I didn't notice at the time and neither did they.

Just tell them to go, it must happen all of the time.
