different sized tyre

I had a different size tyre on my car when I bought it and it had an MOT about a week prior to that. The tester didn't fail the car neither did he put it as an advisrory.
No guarantee that the odd size tyre was on there at the time of test - wheel swaps to get a pass are very common indeed.Quite apart from the fact that odd sizes are a fail - and I certainly wouldn't put money on the tester not noticing if it's a proper test* - the different sizes are bad for handling and for mechanical wear. Especially if the mis-match is on the driven axle, in which case your diff will think you're permanently going round corners!
- as opposed to "I know a guy who passes anything and the test is only a tax anyway, stuff the safety aspect" type.
