odd, as I have the same setup. Love my sleeved exhaust. Then had the precats out and to be honest cant hear any difference as the main cat is still there. I guess your option is the ACT sports or stick some cherry bomb type silencers where the centre box is (the ACT has this kind of setup)

Must admit cherry bombs may be the way to go

Can any one tell me what cheery bombs do to the performance of the exhasut and also the sound? Does it make the car a bit more quite on lighter throttle?

I want a exhaust that is nice and quiteish on tick over and light throttle but still good for over run pops and bangs and sounds good when you give it the beans.

This is for a Cerb if it makes any odds.

Had it converted at SmartsRUs in Nottingham fabricated for £150 .Throw away the silencer box (hand made cherry bombs stainless steal with wadding)

Standard Y piece pre cats out with the ACT copy sports exhaust

Sound .nice crisp raspy , plenty of pops and bangs ,you can cruise with out that annoying droning in your ears..

sports exhaust with the ACT Y piece was just to much for me so had no choice, had to swop back to a standard exhaust.

I now have the ACT Y Piece with standard exhaust ..its sounds good but the under bonnet noise gets on my nerves.

My choice would be, Order a spankin new ACT sports exhaust ,remove the pre cats and keep the standard Y piece ...it makes sense. This gives you an idea of the sound (RASP i miss it!)

Yes mate ,drop off in the morning pick up at dinner. You could nip in to town for a bit of shopping..

V8Bob had some work done ,he was very happy.

Sold it on Fleabay.

Other than hat you could buy some mild steel glasspack cherry bombs and weld them inside the silencer box..but mine looked factory ,high class workmanship.

No worries, sent them an email of what i wanted and also sent the pic of their work you showed, said they were really busy until mid October, however their exhaust technician would need most of the day and i would need to drop off in the morning and pick up at t time...cost £300 +vat...

Bad week really, as someone sold an ACT cherry bomb exhaust system on PH in the classified for £300 and i missed it!!!

Why not take the picture in to a few local exhaust fabricators .Im sure the cherry bombs are off the shelf.. Mine was removed ,fabricated and re fitted in less than four hours..

I do things a bit different .approach them, chat and offer cash..then smile !

Some one on here has fitted two glass pack cherry bombs in side the silencer box but heard these can reduce power ..Ive seen good results by opening the silencer box and fitting half perforated half solid pipe with good results.

http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Can`t find a link to the half and half setup

So leave one of the solids i have in, and replace the other with the original perforated one?
