My TVR 280i 1986 LHD
Discussion
Hi there!
Just registered, although have been following the forums - especially the TVR topics - for sometime now.
I found this 280i from Sweden about a month ago. It is originally shipped to USA in 1986, got back to Europe (Germany) later and spent a while in Sweden before I imported it to Finland.
I got the TVR itch many years ago and even got my mom to order a new 400SE in 1989. Unfortunately the 400SE is not in the family anymore, but the memory lives on. This 280i is not quite The model what I have been looking for, but I think there is room for any TVR in my garage. Cerbera and/or Chimaera is what I am really after, but might accept also a 400SE while looking around.

The story of the "rubber bumper" is that the Swedish owner had an accident with a Mitsubishi and as a handy man he fixed it with a piece of half rotten greyed timber, covered with a skinned motorcycle tire that he screwed on. I have binned it already.
I got the cracked parts with the car and have been re-building the remainings. Unfortunately the front end is also craked, not just the bumper and spoiler. I have not yet figured out what to do with it. Either concentrate on the internals (how it goes) or fix the outer appearence also. The car is full of solutions like the bumper.
I know my Cologne veesixes, as I have them in my Pilgrim Sumos and Ford Taunuses (the one is 2.3 litre with a twin turbo at 400hp and the other supercharged at 350hp). So maybe I'll put a centrifugal supercharger, as there is plenty of room in the front of the engine. I also have 24 valve Cosworth V6 engine waiting for some thing to fit it.
It is so easy to plan everything, but making it happen in real world is an other story. We will see... I am sure that I am going to need your assistance with many TVR specific details in this project.
Actually TVR is currently my means of daily transport, as the company car is under repair.
