Im looking at replacing my pinto engine with a r1 engine, I already have the engine so thats why I'm going down that root.

My problem is I don't want to spend to much time and money doing the conversion so thought I'd best ask the
people who have already done it, my trusty pinto is a great engine but I do
feel I'll benefit more from the r1 as I'm doing a few track days a year and obviously want to go faster :-)

If I do go ahead with this iv got a tuned pinto for sale with a type 9 gear box, not sure how much it's worth though??

What are your thoughts on this, will it be easy enough to do?

There's a pretty good list of whats required to convert here...

What year of R1 are you using? There are a few mods required and some need more than others.

It's a 5jj engine, 2001 on carbs.

Link was very helpful, noticed some things I forgot about. I think I'll be able to get most things from raw to do the conversion so should make it alot easier.

Do you guys think it'll be worth more money in the future over the pinto engine setup?

Think the only engine mod is a sump baffle then. It'll def' feel a lot different. I'd think it'd be worth more but the target market might be smaller. More smiles/mile though.
