Click felt through steering wheel
Discussion
At last my MX5 feels sorted. I got my steering geometry adjusted and it feels very different. Cornering is now truly brilliant fun. The annoying thing is when you get to a bend you know is great and someone is getting in the way. Especially when there's only one decent corner on the way to work!
Anyway the only issue is a very gentle knock felt through the wheel when I swerve gently side to side while driving. Parked, with the engine off and no power steering it feels more pronounced and there's an audible knock from underneath. Jacked up holding the road wheels I can hear the quiet knock but there isn't noticeable play.
Is the steering rack knackered? I understand that wear can take place on the inner ends of the track rods. Is this fixable? I'm broke at the moment. The MOT is months away and it would be nice to know what sort of bill is on the horizon.

Will do. Thanks Phil. I've entered an Autosolo in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to trying out the new throttle response and handling in anger. It would have been hopeless in its retarded mode. I am thinking about improving the breathing via some sort of cold air ducting. Maybe via the headlight. For "carpark" racing which is stop start with lots of revs in 1st and 2nd, underbonnet temps will be roasting.
