Looking to take better photos - would this help?

I am always disappointed about the photos I get when I go to race meetings or do track days. I am not an expert on photography but I spotted this lot on eBay and I wondered if it might be better kit? Ive been looking for the 200mm (really 300mm effectively) lens myself. Well reviewed and relatively cheap too. Recommended to me over the 300mm btw...

why are you disappointed? - simply too far away - then this will help but then again just crop and edit will also produce results. Buying a long lens will add a whole more level of trouble in handing a lens that big, it will amplify any lack of technique.

as someone said learn to use what you got first.

there is an addage a bad photographer always blames his equipment, Its very true.

I cringe every time I see someone with a compact holding the camera at arms length and having the zoom fully extended, or taking 'landscapes' at night with the flash going off like mad.
