pre-cat Act exhaust manifolds

Hi.

Anyone know if these will fit on a pre-cat griff?

Tim at ACT would be the person to ask. You will need to speak to him anyway as you will need to buy the straight through pipes and Y that are missing from the set (as also stated in Nigel's advert).

Yep they should fit. Brilliant pieces of kit, but you will need the straight pipes as said above.

hope the neighbours are ok with it..Better get the cold start fixed, blipping on the throtle to find idle early in the mornings will be a bit of a cringe

Exhausts are very personal thing, what is sound to one person is noise to another.

I personally disagree with you Daz. I have the ACT cherry bomb back box with de-cat Y and ACT no pre-cats manifolds I love it. I made a point of going out in a number of fellow tivvers cars before deciding and I came to the following conclusion:

• Standard - too quiet
• Cats in + Cherry bomb - Too quiet
• Full Decat + straight through - Too tractor like & too loud
• Full Decat + sleeved box - again too tractor like & too loud
• Full Decat + sleeved box but with wadding left in - very nice and not too tractor like but still too loud.
• Full Decat + cherry bomb - takes the edge off the volume and produces better sound.
• Full Decat + standard box - this also sounds very nice but I prefer the sound of the cherry bomb

If I only used my car for local blats I would possibly go for sleeved with wadding left in as it does sound brutal but seeing as mine is used for holidays with missis and motorway journeys sometimes it would be too much. The Cherry bomb for me takes the edge off the straight through option and adds a really distinctive howl which I love.

There is no way I would get rid of mine and I also know that I have a brand new complete high grade S/S system from the headers to the tailpipes so no more welding up manifold cracks or back boxes etc.

Like I said at the start though it is a very personal thing and I am sure lots of people could drive my car and find it too loud.

thanks for those links. The 2011 set-up does it for me. Cats out and ACT cherry bomb exhaust sound great, without being too harsh as you say.

No problems, the videos give you an idea but in real life they sound even better. I reckon you have made a good decision with the ACT Cherry bomb.
