Bottom brackets...

Darn it thats two bottom brackets this month, the mtb went first and now the rb has gone as well, grr! I'm clearly a bit too powerfully built...cough... 
Annoyingly the rb is only about 6 months old and a SRAM Red ceramic affair so not exactly a cheap one to replace.
Anybody know how likely a "terminal" failure is likely to be? Have spent all week at work waiting for the weekend and the chance to get the miles in so am tempted to chance it again tomorrow anyway. Was out on it today and aside from a little bit of play and a fair bit of noise it was still rideable.
Incidently have checked pedals, cranks etc and am in no doubt that it is the bb, is it worth the risk or is writing the day off and doing something else more sensible?

With the SRAM one, remove the cranks and you should fine there is a thin-ish annular ring one the side of the BB. With some decent fingernails you can remove it to get to the bearings. If you can work out what size they are, you should be able to replace any broken ones. Nb that the ceramics are supposed to need lube every few hundred miles. Some blue waxy gunk that comes in a plastic syringe.
Pretty sure you can ride a busted BB for a while, if you don't kind the grinding. I have.

Suspect that it may have been a little neglected from your comments - hadn't realised that i was supposed to lubricate it that often - previous bb was the Ultegra one that came with the bike and was a couple of years old before it was finally replaced with nothing more than routine servicing and even then it was ok. Bike goes to be serviced every few months but that is usually after quite a bit more than a couple of hundred miles use - oops!
Can live with the noise, was just a bit concerned about something terminal happening halfway round the ride...its happened a couple of times before with snapped chains.
