Got several concrete patio slabs loose on the top of the wall bit between the patio and the grass.

They've worked loose off the cement which is still stuck to the top of the supporting bricks.

I was going to recement all of them but this would either require chiseling the cement off and relaying it to preserve the mortar height, or raising the height of the whole wall.

So I'd prefer to glue them to the remaining sound mortar and fill in with new cement where it's cracked.

What's the best glue for this?

Needs to be weatherproof and slightly flexible if possible as kids jumping on the old ones has caused them to work loose.

Ta.

It's a daft idea not to do the job properly but if you must, a fairly generous application of semi-foaming pu glue http://www.screwfix.com/p/evostik-polyurethane-woo... (says wood, but it'll stick masonry no trouble) and put a very heavy weight on top of the slab until it's set so it doesn't rise out of line too much. Or grind the old cement down a few mm, remove all dust, and use some exterior tile adhesive.

Dony use poly-ureathane, a 2-part resin will do the job perfectly - done it to some window slates at home.

You need the resin fixing stuff (for sticking bolts or threaded rods into walls) it will have a spirally twist nozzle.

There's a product called 'Pink Fix' comes in a tube like silicone. Supposedly for Pro use only, can be got on ebay, sticks & bonds almost any building material instantly.Only thing I found that would stick a marble top to cast iron legs and refixed concrete caps to a brick wall properly.

I need to bond some slate tiles to the top of a garden wall. I've tried mortar but as there is a small overhang they tend to work loose. I looked into expoy mortar but its very expensive. I've considered trying some cheap building adhesive, like the cheapest no more nails effort I can find. Without a full bed I can't see it working very well

I started a thread asking the exact same thing on a DIY forum a couple of weeks. Some said to do it properly and to re-mortar, others recommended various sealants and resins whilst one guy said that expanding foam worked well.

The thread ultimately turned into a 4 page argument between the expanding foam "bodger" and the guys who told me to re-mortar and ended up being closed by the moderators. This is obviously a touchy subject, tread with care.

My uncle said that exterior tile adhesive would probably be my best bet too if I didn't want to use mortar.

Epoxy mortar resin is the only suitable adhesive material in my opinion, other than cleaning old mortar off and relaying properly.

Foaming PU glue will do the job more 'perfectly' as it takes less space and is exterior and water resistant. Specify alternatives, but don't pointlessly rubbish previous ideas.

Another ridiculous assertion.
