Excellent! The shifter looks fantastic. Are you happy with the way it works? I watched the videos on the manufacturer's website. Looks like a very interesting setup. Please post the video you did as soon as you can.

Hope you went easy on the enzo.

After the beating the owners wallet took to buy the car, it'd be a bit un-sportsmanlike to trounce him in the mountains as well

If you can share some of the video I'd love to see it.

I try to answer your questions:

- Shifter: this is a sequential shifter for cable operated Getrag gearboxes. (first gear push forward, all others backwards) Operates fast, does great noise (racey), great fun to drive and no risk of selecting the wrong gear (i.e. instead of 5th 3rd). Some concerns that the gearbox might wear faster but we took the box apart during winter for checking and it looked still ok. Other big plus is the looks of it - gives it a touch of a real race car and the crowd loves it.

- Enzo/F50: Following the Enzo for 2 hours was a great experience, plus watching all the time two F50 in the back mirrors. Had the impression that the Enzo is terribly fast but would not really leave me behind. But the guy in the F50 following me told me later that he could not keep my pace on the straights up the hill.

- the 5th car in the row was a Wiesmann, a German roadster with M3 engine, as far as I know.
the event was local Austrian, around 200 cars, including Murcielago and Gallardo... The Enzo, Zonda, F50 AND Ultima were the stars of the show, presented especially to the audience. I even got a special price together with the Enzo owner. Nobody knew what that car is, which drove some of the present "pistonheads" quite crazy because they thought that they would know all supersport cars around the world...

- It paid for me to re-build the car during the winter because it is not only much more driveable (eg. no stalling under hard breaking anymore, no overheating, air-con works much better now, handling is better, oil and fuel consumption much lower, less interior noise and heat, super stereo which makes long travels much more pleasant,...) but it also goes like hell now (revs willingly up to 7.500) and looks much better IMO, or less "kit-car" like (eg. carbon front splitter, side intakes and RAM air box). But to be honest, looking at the quality work of the Enzo and Zonda, if parked side by side, there is still a tremendous gap...

I own an Ultima Can Am in the USA and am looking for a 5 speed sequential shift conversion. I am doing this for many reasons but mostly because of the difficult rod linkage that is currently in the car.
The Cartronic sequential shift system that you use looks like a great system. Can you tell me how you like it and what the benefits and drawbacks of this system have been for you? If you installed this I would love to hear how difficult it was. I am running an inverted Porsche G50/52 trans.

Thanks

I would be very interested in the engine setup you have. Can you email me, or post build details?

Please! You are killing me. You better be careful what you post here. We could all die of laughter!!!

My guess is that 95 out of 100 people that saw your convoy were trying to figure out what a Farrari Ultima was. It appears that you have done an excellent job building a component "kit" car that can run with the $500k supercars. THUMBS UP!!!

The manufacturer of the shifter is a Czech company, here is the link:
www.seqshift.com/main.phtml

They have an exclusive dealer in Germany (I guess Cartronic?), selling the system for Porsche cars.

As far as I know it works only with the 6-speed Getrag box, as used in late Porsches. It must be cable operated, too. You should ask them directly, they probably speak English, at least their website is in English. Installation of the shifter is very fast. No further adjusting needed and I run it now for several thousand miles already. Can´t quote a valid sales price because I got it at special conditions being the first Ultima customer and testing it...

I will try to post a short video of testing the shifter (at low speed) in my Ultima, through d3vine´s ftp site (hope it works finally...).
