Confusing speed limit signs

I heard about a road in Tamworth (I think) that has limit signs either side, one reading 30 and one reading 40. These are permanent signs BTW.

Can't find a reference to this or a link anywhere.

I suspect that one sign has been turned around, but does anyone know of this?

It was in "The Sun" today, not my copy, really. It was meant to be a 30 zone. The "sign-putter-upper" couldn't do his job propperly and duffed up. The council have already fixed it.
