My brake lights have stopped working. I have narrowed the problem down to the brake pedal switch. Question is does anyone know if its 'simply' a case of replacing the switch or is there an adjustment that should be checked first? There is a threaded plunger coming out of the switch which abuts to a lever on the pedal mechanism. Pressing the brake pedal, doesn't seem to generate any discernable movement on the plunger. Could this be the problem?

Needless to say none of this is at all accessible so changing out the switch doesn't look easy. Any tips from anyone before I destroy all of my nuckles???

Thanks

Donny

If the plunger is stuck "in", can you not persuade it out? Perhaps some silicon spray to lubricate it? Be careful not to get it on the pedal though...

Oh forgot to mention, in terms of access, it might be easiest to remove the seat and get yourself in the footwell headfirst! Memories of changing a mastercylinder on an X1/9 which sat on top of the pedals.....shudder...

Thanks for the advice. Replaced the switch (stuck plunger)amnd sorted now. Great service from eurospares. Easy web site to use and exploded diagrams of parts made ordering a doddle. Part arrived next day and didn't feel I was being ripped off on the cost.
