Panasonic Lumix FZ45- Thoughts?

Afternoon all,

Recently started this thread asking for suggestions- Basically after a camera for an upcoming trip to Japan that's a step above a basic point-and-shoot functionality wise but not quite a DSLR- Price is also an issue!

What are people's thoughts about this?

I've seen it as low as £213 on other sites. Seems to be a decent bit of kit for the money with good functionality and a decent optical zoom. Thoughts?

I have both the 20 and the 35 in this range. They're good cameras giving good results but, they're not a DSLR!

I have just bought a Canon G9 for a trip. £140 on Ebay, in good nick. Excellent results so far and easy to navigate as I have a 40D. Full manual control. IIR, they are up to G12 now.

Also got a G9. On a trip to Skye last year it was the camera I used the most!
