Just got a mk1 1.8
Discussion
I didn't pay a lot for the car
I have 2 faults with the car, firstly no lights blowing fuses this I will get to the bottom off.
secondly It's like driving a boat
rear shocks are shot ~(which is annoying as previous owner has renewed the rear springs
apart from when you bounce the back end there is no resistance, when driving it skips about
do you think it is just the shocks or could it be something else

I recommend having a full geometry wheel alignment done. It can make a big difference if things have been allowed to deteriorate. £100 max inc VAT.
£100 where do you go the last time I got my BMW done it was £50
I was thinking of getting all the wheels balanced and the geometry done after the shocks go on
and all the bushes have been checked

A proper 4 wheel alignment generally costs between 80 - 150 depending on where you go.
