Are all X308 XJR AFMs interchangeable?

I currently have the LNC1620AA. Can I replace it with one of the later versions (the AA seems hard to find brand new).

MAF - Mass Airflow Sensor. I'd be interested in the answer also.

No you can't as a straight swap as the values are differant

Although I can supply a majic box to fool the ECU that nothing has changed
Majic box and a new MAF £495

See the differance, twice the area

Which one's which?

The one of the right is available new from Jaguar at about £200.00.

Yes that is the new one on the right but you can't fit it in place of the old one on the left without my litle box of tricks

The new one give an extra 100% air flow rate so you aren't strangling the supercharger

The MAF fitted to my '02 XJR-100 is an LNE1620BB (also marked 197408-0021) and looks like the one on the right. My '05 XK8 on the other hand is a 43-12B579-AB (also marked MB-197400-3021) and also looks like the one on the right. I toyed with the idea of changing them over to see what difference it made (if any) but didn't when I saw the difference in the part numbers. I wanted to clean them but couldn't see any of the classical 'hair-thin platinum' wires. AFAICS the sensor wires are now a pair of encapsulated small tubes (rather akin to small silicon diodes) right at the top of the venturi tube. The bulbous thing which I guess is a temperature sensor still gets quite grimy, though.

LNE1620BB is the later one
My box of tricks is just to be able to fit the one on the right inplace of the original on the left

The other number is on the 4.2Lt that has a all in one filter and MAF housing
Not sure if they are interchangable, maybe not as they have a different ECU to the 4Lt

The MAF on my 2000 XJR is the same as the one on the right. I have read on the jaguar forum several times people recommending cleaning the MAF. What would I clean? Is it the diamond shaped metal bit with the ball on the bottom as pictured or something else as I want to try this but am yet to do so.
Thanks
Richard

Undo the 2 crosshead screws and pull the sensor from its housing, wires to clean in there.
