I have searched for this, as I know the DPF gets a reasonable amount of press on here, but basic question.

We have a Citroen C5 in our fleet, and I want to remove the DPF. The software bit is quite straightforward on Citroen/Peugeot I believe as the cars were sold with & without a DPF (FAP in Citroen/Peugeot speak) so there is an option to disable it.

Re the mechanical bit, I have seen a FAP off of the car, but already hollowed out .. and the guy described this as a concrete like substance that he had removed; so the question is..

Am I correct in assuming the 'concrete like substance' is the actual filtering material, and needs to be removed. If so anyone done it ... I have heard of masonary drills, broom handles, etc etc. I noticed at the thick end of the filter, a gauze, does this stay. Is it anything more than a piece of mesh ?

Lastly, I can get the software done as a favour, but the guys charging £300 ... is this the new snake oil, as far as I am aware at least re Citroen/Peugeot Eolys based system, it is a laptop/cable switch ... and whatever is involved in removal, which guess would take you an hour tops if you'd done a few.

Anyone no for sure ?

Thank you
