Brand new 106/saxo shell for race build

Hello all, im hoping somone from the forum may be able to point me in the right direction. Im looking for a brand new shell of a 106 or saxo. I know there are wants out there that have been stored or kept by motorsport teams. Does anyone have a link to these or may or heard where there could be one?

Back in the day, such things used to be advertised in Motoring News, now Motorsport News. Haven't read it in many years, so don't know if it is still useful for this.

Slightly off topic, but why does it have to be new, is it really so much better than getting a used one that hasn't been bent?

Indeed, I'd be looking for a shopping wagon that's been driven once a week to the shops all it's life.

If you're doing a proper build it will be seam welded and the cage will add to the stiffness as opposed to being bolted to the floor.

It would be cheaper my way too.

I knew of one that had done 15,000 miles but it was killed by the scrappage scheme. Was in great condition too, probably worth more than the £1000 he would have got for it.

Cheers for the replys, i heard the shell was available from peugeot for 825quid but they do not have any now.

Looks like il be looking for a clean low mileage example now.

ive looked it up before now, brand new shells are still available but when i check the only right had drive available was 5 door, 3 doors are still available but only in lhd

Better off going for an LHD example anyway if it's purely a track car.

Stuff that was designed LHD then converted (poorly if french) to RHD never drives as well.

E30 BMWs are very noticable with this.

Plus the weight balance will be better in a LHD as the driver will be sat behind the gearbox instead of the engine. Also eliminates the brake balance bar.

Where and when did you look that up? Iv tried Peugeot for a right hand drive but they don't have them.
