How often should you change transmission fluid and also how often should the clutch fluid be changed.I have read about checking these fluid levels but never changing them.I ask for two reasons which are very likely completely unrelated to fluids but I thought I would ask.1st problem is that I have difficulty changing gear once the car is very warm, that is actualy pulling the gear stick into neutral.2nd problem is a whine from the front end (I think) in first gear upto about 7-8 mph. Car has only done 8k on a 95 M plate so would I be right in thinking that a worn gear box or diff is v unlikely.

I was advised to change the transmission fluid every 20K. Reason being that the exhaust runs along side the gear box adding to the heat in the box and degrading the oil quicker (sounded OK to me). I think the brake and clutch fluids are a 12K services item.

I've got an SD1 box in mine and it's difficult to engage 1st when hot. When I greased the prop the other day I noticed an ajustable link on the back of the gear lever. I'm going to have a fiddle with this and see if I can get any improvements. I'll keep you posted.

PS. Sorry I missed you at Le Mans Steve, we must get together soon.
