Porsche Cayenne or Full Fat Rangey?
Discussion
Which one? And why?
Looking at 4.4RR and 4.5 Porka, pref with LPG, but either way, circa 55 plates.....
I used to think the Porsche was ugly as sin, but there are now too many RR's locally, and I want something a little different....
Anyone owned either or both who can comment?

What are you using it for?
Cruising round pickin' up chicks.
Taking the kids to school.
Driving to the Swiss Alps in Mid January with one other where you will rent skis and stuff.
Driving to the Swiss Alps in Mid January with 4 people, 4 sets of skis and luggage.
Carrying 6 big suitcases to Heathrow?
Driving up a rutted farm path to the estate every day?
Driving on the motorway for an hour every day?

Family wagon, + 2 setters, + occasional shooting trip (not major off-roading) and the fact that I want a big car because I'm big enough and stupid enough to buy one....

As I understand it, the Cayenne from the dealers is a road beast, and not good on tracks or shooting fields.![tongue out](/inc/images/tongue.gif)
Unless that is, you change the tyres and put on some M+S or some other ruggedness.
But, this takes away from the Porches smooth road performance.
It's a bit of a cake-and-eat-it situation.
The boot of the Cayenne is also quite small IMO. (unless the one I was in had some odd rear seat configuration)
You might find it a bit tricky to put two big dogs in the back.
Another option.
What about a top end Landcruiser?

What are they like on internal space? Always assumed they were a big like a reverse Tardis...
only had a passenger ride in one (front seat) so can't really comment what its like fully loadedcertainly not much difference to the porsche (although I prefer the interior of the VW)

Just had a look on classifieds, didn't realise they had come down to circa £10k.....
These are pretty mega value, but scary running costs, plus VW dealers who will have never seen one.You have to ask is 313hp and mega torque worth 20mpg when the V6 TDI is pretty good still and will get over 30?
