Hi all,
I recently had a little fear, when my oil light appeared. I checked the oil pressure, it was OK, then I checked the level, OK too. So I guess I should change the switch, then see if the light goes off.
It's an orange oil light, inside the speedo. My question is : is it a level warning, or a pressure warning? On "normal" cars, I would think that :
- an orange oil light means level is too low
- a red oil light means the pressure is too low
Is is the same on the Cerb?
I didn't find an oil level sensor on Racetech parts, only a pressure switch.

Thanks for the help!

It's a pressure sensor which reads off an oil gallery in the middle of the V, there isn't an oil level sensor.

Thanks,

Does it mean that I could have a good pressure in the pump, and a low pressure in the V, due to any big failure..?

Great news smile
The pressure reads about 60 at idle cold, about 30 at idle hot, +/-10.
I'll get the switch by the end of the week.

By the way I tried the car on a little track last weekend, it's great!!!!!!! Awesome brakes, no understeering, easy to control when over-accelerating in 1st/2nd gear...

It has been known for the oil light and battery light to be crossed over on some cars - it is worth checking whether the battery is charging. If not, the big fuse is your first port of call (in a little black box at the back of the engine assuming it's a V8).

Thanks for this info, TVR's reputation for electricity is real smile
In my car, the lights are at the right place, I already tried the battery light when I lost my alternator belt smile

Hi all,
I received the oil switch. Strangely, it is not the same I had before : instead of a 1/2" screw, I have a 17/32" (or 13.5mm?) screw.
Anyone knows where to find this?
Thanks
