Hi - My Chim has always been quite vocal, lots of pops and bangs. All cats in place, but with sleeved exhaust and very easy to provoke into popping and in some cases crackling like a mad thing. However, it seems to have suddenly stopped, not entirely, there is still some popping on the overun and when truly hot at just the right revs it will crackle. But if I sit with the car all warmed up after a long drive in neutral and I raise the revs to say 4K and release it would have gone off like a shotgun in the past, now nothing at all.
Car otherwise is running fine. Called by a my local Indy who said no signs of collapsed cat (I.e. rubbish running, glowing manifold) so nothing seems wrong otherwise with the car.
I know some will say the popping is too much fuel etc, and I am not meaning to debate the noise (although it's a TVR so of course I miss it) just in my non technical world something has clearly changed overnight since I drove it which gets me worrying. Car stands quite a bit, but after using for three days and really getting it warm to blow off the cobwebs there is no change.
Due to go to Scotland in it next week and just wondering if there is anything anyone would recommend I check?

I'd check the output from the Lambda sensors incase something has gone awry - check blitzracing's posts. He's extremely knowledgeable on all things fueling & ECU.
I'd also be checking the throttle pot to make sure it hasn't slipped it's mounting screws - some have elongated holes to aid in the correct calibration and if the screws have loosened then it might have shifted and the fueling data sent to the ECU will be different / wrong
Good luck!
