Last night, when I turned my lights on, I noticed that the Rev Counter light was not working ( all the others do ).

So, is it an easy job ( I assume it's just the bulb that has gone pop ), or do I have to remove the engine, gearbox and dismantle the car to it's component parts ?

Hi Adrian , I'm pretty sure you can reach up behind the dash and pop the bulb holder out . I might be wrong though biggrin

If the gauge is anything like the ones we have in the US cars, the bulb is recessed in a hole in the back of the gauge, covered by a rubber cover. The last one that I changed required the use of a small needle-nose plier - I don't think there was any way that I could get to the bulb with the gauge still in the dash. Anyway, removing the gauge only takes a few minutes - it's held in place by a U-bracket, fastened to the back of the gauge with two knurled nuts.

Thanks all for the information and the offer of a new bulb. I'll try and have a look today and see what I find out.

I've fixed it.

Yep, undo the bracket that's held in place by two nut-type things but the kind you undo with your fingers. Then remove the bracket and the rev counter slides out the front.

But the bulb was okay, so I put it back, a turned the holder so as it's secures and still nothing. So, I wiggled it a bit and turned it a bih harder and hey-presto, on it came. So it must have just worked itself lose.

Just give it a wiggle !
