What’s the value of the company car on top of your wage?

I have just been offered a job, which is a little low, but comes with a company car.

At the interview I was told there are not too many options of car, as the position is middle management.

This is my first company car and I am a petrol head, so know already I will hate the car choices.

As I haven’t accepted the job yet, does anyone know if any options to negotiate on this?

I have heard people say, take the cash option and get your own which is what I would like, but as yet don’t know if I can discuss this option really until I am in the role.

Is there also a value you can put on a company car, so I know if it will bring the offer up to where
I want it?

Depending on the grade it's £4,000, £6,000 and £8,000 on my level.
