Not feeling 100% - push through it or take it easy?
Discussion
I’ve got one of those annoying nagging colds that just gives me some congestion and a minor sore throat/sniffles, nothing more. I’m probably at 95% of health as a result. If I take it easy I suspect it’ll still take ages to go but if I just get on with the gym/circuit training after work as normal, rather than give it a miss, will I make it worse or does that kind of exercise help?
reduce the frequency and intensity but if it's a minor cold etc a bit of light exercise won't cause you any harm, particularly a little non-cardio work such as light weight lifting etc.
having said that, a steady run/cycle/swim isn't going to kill you. just work at a lower effort and for a shorter period of time than usual, will help prevent atrophy.
