I assume it is.

Just sitting in the garden when one of my brothers told me i couldn't get the ball in the goal. I tried to prove him wrong. Turns out i cant, so i gave it another go, and just as i was about to kick the ball, my right foot bent 90 degrees to the right, and i felt something snap or come out of place in my ankle, and the worst possible pain ever, I can just about walk, but am in a lot of pain just sitting here.

Is it worth a trip to the hospital, or just leave it? Anybody got any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

Probably Achilles tendon.

Take a trip to your A&E. The cure will probably take some time.

Better to get advice than ignore it.

Not sure its achilles rupture. No way you could walk or push off on it.

Still not good though.

A&E I'm afraid. Aren't you Canterbury? Minor injuries at the K&C might be OK, save you a trip to Margate or Ashford.

ETA -just spotted you're Folkestone. RVH walk in centre might be OK.

did something very similar falling down some steps at work a while back (how? lord only knows!)

I went to Canterbury walk in minor injuries barely able to walk, let alone put weight on it...and was made to feel like a second class citizen taking the michael out of the NHS, was told that if it clicked/snapped etc, it was only a minor injury "as proper injuries dont snap"... and was told to come back in 48hours if i still couldnt walk on it unaided.

I couldnt...and i didnt go back, healed itself after about a month!

get yourself to A&E, in the mean time pop a bag of frozen peas (or anything else cold, for that matter - vegetables or not!) over it for 20 minutes, take it off for 40-50mins, then back on again for 20mins; repeat this a few times.

Ice, elevation, ibuprofen, paracetamol and a trip to A&E.
