Hyundai santa fe or Land rover discovery?

We are looking at the above up to 3k, the santa fe would be 2003ish and diesel and the disco probably 1997-99?
our current renault has a few electrial probs and we would rather px it and add some extra than repair it and end up with the same thing in 6 mths.

If you are using it for off road stuff, then the Disco, however, for just a general runabout sort of thing, I'd actually go Santa Fe.

This. The Santa Fe is a pretty good soft-roader, and more reliable than a Disco.

Santa Fe with seats flat has load capacity of a thumping 2100 litres - one of the largest i know of-even beating the much lauded current Skoda Superb estate
The Press hated it though -saying it was a rubbish drive
