As above really, preferably a proper track with kerbs/gradients/tarmac/grass runoff rather than just a twisty route through some tyres on an industrial park.

Somewhere that's more like a mini-race track than a contrived course through some cones, and preferably fast karts that reduce the impact of being 'heavy' boxedin

Location: nearer to Yorkshire the better, but I'll travel to the Midlands or even London area for the right track.

Suggestions please!

Have you looked at Teesside? The international circuit is immense.

Another vote for Buckmore park. It's s cracking little circuit, and fits your description of a mini racing circuit perfectly

I'm lucky enough to be less than 30 minutes away, so myself and group of mates go 4 or 5 times a year

Whilton Mill would be another suggestion.

I live in walderslade which is about 5minutes away, so I'm there with 98elise junior as often as I can afford it smile

Admittedly it's the only outdoor karting venue I've been too but I really enjoyed the day there, it felt more like a mini trackday.

Wilton Mill or Thruxton are the two I'd nominate.

I recommend here:

http://www.walker-adams.co.uk/

It's not quite karting (per se), but having been twice now with a large group of mates, it is awesome fun! The chap that runs it and builds the buggies is hugely knowledgeable, and for me, it was more fun than standard karting (It may not be what you are looking for, but I thought I would throw it in!)

Have fun whatever you do!

Try PFI Karts out near Newark - I think they have proper televised events there too.

Buckmore is awesome, once you have been, any 'normal' karting track seems a waste of time.
