I'm trying to remove the springs from a set of coilovers. I bought a spring compressor from Halfrauds, but the springs are too tightly wound to fit the 'hooks' to the spring.
Does anyone know of any suitable compressors or an alternative (and safe) way of removing them?
What car is it? Had this problem on the springs for my kit car, which is quite common apparently, as they tend to have much smaller springs than tin tops. I just ground the hooks away a bit until they fit, with an angle grinder and flap wheel.
