2010 320d - Stop start?
Discussion
What a diesel engine for a standard family/rep car. The Performance from the car combined with the MPG = incredible. I have driven an all manor of diesel engine cars (old land rover 2.5s to 3.0 x5 to a 1.3 Corsa, all ages of passats, volvo c30 etc), and I dont think you can get much better for the all round capability. It happily sat on my private race track at 120 and got there pretty quick too. I just felt the gear ratios were too long for around town use and you had to make most of the box if you wanted to put it on boost quickly.
Anyway back to my point - is the stop/start good for the engine long term? I can magine turbo's and start motors becoming a problem in 10 years time when mere mortals will by these cars?
