Just sent this email to my MP.

Jason, I am a strong supporter of the Conservative party and after over ten years of a government who frankly would not be allowed to leave a mental hospital without supervision. My heart sinks when David Cameron starts talking about plastic carrier bags. I know it's an issue (maybe) but for heavens sake our country is on it's knees , no return on our savings the cost of living rising faster than I have ever seen in my life time. A transport system that is the worst in Europe , it took me three and a half hours yesterday to travel less than thirty miles. Is it London that sends our politicians loopy ?

Cameron went to the same school on 'how to be Prime Minister' as Brown. The man is a complete waste of space, totally out of his depth.

Ban the giving away of plastic bags and bin bag sale goes up 500%

Why

Because plastic bags were being recycled as they were reused as bin bags

So ban them and you end up with the same amount of plastic in landfills.

But either way it doesn't tackle the issue of platics in landfill as most stuff is way over packaged

Albeit temporary.

A politican pointing to plastic bags as the EU implodes and the UK goes to hell in a handcart is also an excellent form of attention capture. Great politics, crap leadership, as usual frown

Mrs Blib went to Oxford with him. Her description of the man is rather more dismissive than that. She uncharacteristically goes ballistic whenever I mention his name.

But on the upside

If he is concentrating on plastic bags he isn't concentrating on anything important.

If he spends the rest of his term looking at plastic bags, dog pooh and park benches he can't screw anything up

Its the bin bag makers cartel calling the shots I tell thee.

First it was a women prime minister, then they banned our light bulbs, now bags. Whatever next....? Will somebody think of the children!

At least he didn't scrap our aircraft carriers five minutes before ordering the RAF into action over Libya.

Oh.

True, it's a comforting thought.
