engine upgrade opinions please

i was concidering a 4.6 coversion a while ago when i had some spare cash, so while i was there, was thinking about some stage 4 heads, ACT twin or triple plenum upgrade too and had comments on here saying that i could reach over 300hp from that, which was backed up by richard from dulfords, now that lot would come at a cost and money is tight at the mo, but would still love more power and better drivability as it still shunts a bit after my last upgrades, now the question is, as a compramise i was thinking about just a stage 4 head and a twin plenum upgrade and get mark adams to map it for me, now would i get any reasonable gains from this or would it not be worth the money?? richard called the other day saying that mark was at dulford and would like to have done a taylored map on my car, but i wasnt available to go down there that day, he reconed it would drive much better and maybe produce 10 more horse power just from that, so i recon with better heads and a twin plenum he could get lots more power?? at the mo its a 400 with stealth cam, smooth bore induction, hydrolic lifters, uprated air flow meter, carbon trumpets and was rolling roaded to produce 253hp

nice power u got there!!!i am suppose to change my cam pretty soon.they told me i should go for the MC1 cause no sure the stealth cam will fit.mine is a 400 year 2001.i have the smooth elbow,carbon trumpets,custtom exhaust and K&N filter.i do believe a well tune 400 can be plenty enough if u know what u are doing!!!!tks for ur comments....

yes supercharging is an option, i will say im not capable of doing the work myself, so a garage would have to do it, i thought of getting a 4.6 engine, but im still into spending more than what i have at the moment, the upgrade that richard mentioned had balanced pistons, balanced crank, for i guess a supersmooth drive and id still want the heads done as ive been told the biggest restriction on the rover v8 is the heads, so as a compramise, i was wondering if id get sufficient gains by upgrading just the heads and maybe an ACT plenum for good measure??

Correct me if im wrong but one is from V8 Developments the other RPI,Both completley different ..Pity V8 frog you live the other side of the world because we would all like to meet you and the other V8 Developments could look at your engine to see if the Stealth will fit ..Its touch and go, some engines will.

its just what i was told, i have no idea personally, when i first mentioned my upgrades on here a while ago, someone asked me if i had pocketed pistons as stealth cams can only work with them, so i called dulford and asked how they knew i had those pistons for the cam to fit, he then told me they do 2 types and moments after i logged into here and someone else said exactly the same as richard, that they do 2 types of cam

ah yes but yours is twin turbo, so you got a small one winding up at lower revs, or is that whats being suggested? i bet that cost more than a couple of grand though? RE supercharger costing over 4 grand, im sure dulford sdaid theirs is about 3200, im guessing plus fitting? any way i was only looking to spend under 3 at the moment so i guess options are limited, thats why i was thinking about decent heads and a remap for now and wondered what gains i may get from that, im still tempted to hold off and save and get something decent done Lag
