This is really only a surprise to those who think Muslims are a single homogeneous group.

AQ are Sunni. Iranians are predominantly Shia. The two groups have hated each other for quite a while. Islam 101.

Most are aware of the Shia Sunni divide. The funny thing here is one group of criminals bhing at another about stealing credit for a crime, making them both look more stupid than they already do.
