R56 MINI sidelamp change (advice please)

Hello all,

I've a new sidelamp for my 2009 Mini Cooper on its way , to replace the existing driver's side unit which has lost a battle with an incoming stone .

Has anyone done this job? I understand it's a bumper-off task and could do with a runthrough of how to tackle the job . All advice will, of course, be greatly appreciated .

no need to take the bumper off, remove wheel arch liner and also the horn which is in the way. You can then remove the old unit quite easily, 30 minute job tops

I presume, after taking the wheel off, I'll find the liner is held by those plastic pop rivet things, and I understand there are a couple of Torx screws.

In any event, I'll be having a go as soon as the weather permits. Thanks again.
