E89 Z4 roadster
Discussion
Morning all,
I’m considering an E89 Z4 roadster as my next daily driver. The car will likely be a 2009 non M-sport 23i or 30i with a manual gearbox. A few questions for you.
1. What real world mpg can I expect. Strangely BMW quote the same mpg figures for both engines!
2. Are there any reliability concerns?
3. I’ve heard stories of poor paint quality. This is a major concern. Any advice on this?
4. Shuld I look for a car with sports seats? Are these substantially better than the standard seats?
All the best.

i've got the sdrive 30i in auto and get 31mpg combined
no reliability problems i am aware of other than 19" alloys cracking due to runflats
i've not noticed any problems with paint
the standard seats are fine, mine also has electric bolsters but non-M seats are manual adjust other than the bolsters.
Having come from a 3.0 z4 coupe, the engine feels identical (as they are), but the handling feels so much better, no tramlining like i had in the coupe.
