How can "unfair dismissal" be turned over when he was convicted of a crime? And now we the public have to pay this £90k a year to ist on his fking arse?

Incredible, you could not make this st up. Now just wait for his multi million pound compensation deal + he'll sue the papers. He's made a career out of (allegedly) being a crook and no one can do anything about it frown

In May this year Mr Dizaei won an appeal against his conviction after arguing that it was unsafe.
Technically it is right that he is reinstated.

In January 2000, Dizaei left a series of threatening messages on the voicemail of his ex-girlfriend Mandy Darougeh. She had dumped him after finding out he was married.
Gadget quoting Dizaei allegedly said:
I will take such revenge from you, that like a dog, you will be sorry that you will never treat me like this again.

Mandy, I am going to declare war on you and I have declared it as of now. See what I will do to you. From now on you are dead. I will start with your mum first. I am so emotionally disturbed now that anything is possible from me.

I give you an hour and see what I will do to you. If you think I am worried about my career, to get back at you, you must be joking.

'Just remember what I did to ******'s (name unknown) husband. You are not safe. I am going to come and catch you, on my mother's life. If you are at home, get out because if I see you, I am going to lose it right now.

You want war, bh, you're going to get some war. You will see now what I can do so you will cry for years. First I will start with your family, then I come to you and your reputation. I will spread all over London that you are a prostitute
This man is not fit to wear a traffic warden's uniform, let alone a Commander of the Mets.

Anyone but him or someone with a race card would have been gone and never coming back.

What a thoroughly nasty piece of work. Everyone "at work" must hate him.

And this is what's so fked up about the system right now. He's clearly a very nasty piece of work promoted about his IQ level.

I heard on radio 4 this morning that he has been suspended pending his retrial next year and the internal MET investigation.

Indeed.
Plenty of other officers have been reinstated after their appeals have been allowed. ( not many as controversial as him admittedly)

Suspended officers shouldn't be paid? Seems a bit harsh.

He shouldn't be re-instated as an officer IMO. I have absolutely no problem with suspended officers being paid, but this guy is a completely different case he should never have been re-instated.

Anyone care to explain how or why a conviction can be 'unsafe'?

If a key witness has been found out to be a serial liar, for instance.

Of course it depends which witness(es) was/were the serial liar(s). Allegedly.

If I remember correctly, both sides were pretty poor excuses for human beings. Dizaei for one and the al-Bangladeshi guy for the other.

Quite agree with the sentiment that Dizaei has no right to wear a copper's uniform. If he wasn't an effnik, he would have been booted out many years ago. (If he was a many with any scruples whatsoever he would have left of his own accord.)

Interestingly, I was in one of the many units in the Home Office that deal with police when his original conviction was announced ... there was a collective cheer from the staff there when the news got 'round.

It seems rather odd that, at a time when the government is making is easy to sack police officers of lower ranks it seems all but impossible to sack anyone over chief inspector. Even the Met comms had to resign.

The only good thing is that no ACPO rank officer I've ever known has had an effect on day to day policing. There was the CC of Devon and Cornwall who managed to get civilians up in arms and then went but that had little to do with policing.

That's because the top ranked officers are all now political roles, and we all know how hard it is to remove them!

I constantly say this country has 'lost the plot'.

Quite a lot usually tell me I'm wrong.

Anyone want to disagree now?

I wait for the next unbelievable news. Shouldn't be too long...
