Problems with character display when quoted

Strange one...

If you look at my posting on this thread:

I used the phrase:
"Blasé and out of sync with the modern world in terms of the balance between team and governing body."

The é displays correctly.

However when I was quoted it changed the é to a é:

Fingers crossed, 17 years since we lost a racer, but I personally fear this generation of F1 racers has forgotten the true risks (outside of Schumacher/Barrichello and some of the old school like Trulli) and we will see another fatality or serious injury in F1 in the near future; but I hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately I fear it's more likely to be a track worker that gets it.

I've tried it on 2 browsers but looks like it's not browser related?
