Something Else For The Weekend: Prescott Hillclimb

If you can't make Britcar or the PH Sunday Service, how about a spot of Yank hill climb action?

Not an American car
Not an American car
We're fast approaching the end of the mainstream motorsport season (though try telling that to the F1 calendar: last race less than a month before Christmas? Madness...) and, to celebrate, Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire is holding its end-of-season bash.

As well as the usual hillclimb-ey on-track action, there'll be a host of vintage hot rods and iconic historic American marques, Dragster Record Breakers, bikes (Harleys and Indians) and even a 'Wall of Death'.

Oh, and the 1990 Penske PC-19 Chevy Indycar that was Emerson Fittipaldi's spare car and was raced by a young Paul Tracy will be there, too.

If you fancy popping along, tickets are £18 for Saturday and £18 Sunday; tickets are per person, under 14 years are free, and camping is available at £5 per person per night, payable on the day.

Damn, I'd like to see her ride...

Anyway! Sounds like fun, and with the weather this could be on the cards!

I just mention the idea to her, & she's up for it! Great! The sun is out & so are the nice cars smile

I think the Wall of Death is the same one they have at Glastonbury. It's really worth a visit.

It surely is. I nearly missed my first timed run up the hill last year because I was watching the Wall of Death.

Ah but then a "Prescott Hillclimb" would be an oxymoron.
