Currently sitting here thinking i really need to move on in order to advance both my skills and need a new challenge.

I have been in my current role for around three years as a finance controller.

Looking at the economic climate a lot of people would probably say you are mad to consider leaving a stable decent paying job.

Being the sole income into the household i do feel slightly guilty wanting to move into a new area of finance. I mean there ARE risks attached to such a scenario.

- New job and unfamiliarity possibly?
- on probation period

Perks include, sizable increase in salary and perks.

I am looking towards business partner/commercial roles and have had some success in garnering some interest.

What say you?

Ask me 2-5 year ago's and i would have jumped at the chance. Now? maybe i'm getting old..

Hey there!

How are you?

How's the finance world.treating you?

I am on the verge of securing a new role after 3 months of hunting!

What are you currently doing in your job? Where are you located? What sector?

It's about your attitude to risk and whether you aspire to higher roles. If you're a risk taker and relish the challenge of new assignments, then a move at the 3 year point is about right, but for an at least 20% rise in overall package. If however you shudder at the thought of starting somewhere new, then stay put and grow within your existing organisation. Good luck!
