Donington - where to stay/go out on Saturday

Looking some recommendations people if you can help!
Doing a Sunday track day at Donington in November. Due to proximity to our homes, my friend and I will be travelling up the day before so will be looking for a Saturday night watering hole and a curry. Will probably stay in the Holiday Inn by the airport which is £35 for the night so suggestions on where to eat and drink on a Saturday nearby are requested. I am reasonably aware that this will probably be limited!

For a quiet olde worlde country pub I would recommend The John Thompson in Ingleby, about four miles away. Also, the pub has nice chalets that you can rent out for the night - bedroom with a double bed and a decent sized sofa bed in the lounge. Better bet than a Travelodge I'd say, for same price or cheaper iirc.
No curry houses terribly nearby, but great view of countryside and river, good ale brewed on the premises, and plenty of decent takeaway curry places nearby (Curry Art in chellaston being particularly good)
ETA - Not too far away there is a pretty top class Indian restaurant called Anoki. It's on the A38 on the way to Burton-on-Trent. Looks a bit shoddy from the outside, but the food is fantastic - not cheap though, last time I went it was about fifty quid a head for the works.
