LLyods TSB email received - seems a little odd?
Discussion
I suspect I know the answer already, however just received two identical emails within 5 minutes of each other which read:
Dear Customer,
On Sept. 27, 2011, LLoydsTSB Bank reported a problem with your bank account ending in 3960.
Until the issue is resolved, you cannot use this bank account with LLoydsTSB Bank to send or receive payments, or to withdraw money. Please follow instructions to resolve this problem.
LL100905
Yours sincerely,
LLoydsTSB Bank

The "LL100905" is a clicky link which opens up in the (or what appears to be) llyods TSB internet banking login page.
I don't bank with said company, never have, never will and nor are any of the details contained relevant, nor have I entered any details in the login screen. Just a spam email to direct traffic to their bonefide site or perhaps something a little more involved?
Any thoughts?

It is` a scam. The clue is you have no account with the bank. Bin it.
Yup, suspectd that within the first few seconds, just expected the clickly link to take me to donkey porn or a site for buying blue pills from Nigeria or something along those lines rather than what appears to be a legit LLyods login in screen. Has since been binned.
Cheers!

I've had three today supposedly from Halifax along the same lines, and of course I have no Halifax account.
Do people really fall for these even if they happen to bank with the organisation?
If so they must be really stupid.
I suppose they must: I get these every day but I do use my email on the web a lot advising clients etc. Do people really fall for these even if they happen to bank with the organisation?

Get a good anti virus program and never open an email from an unknown source.
