Evening all.

Been in to Italian cars for the last 9 years but am picking up a 123D soon. One thing the dealer has offered is the seal and protect but wait for it, at a price of £295!!!!!!

Now, being used to waxing, polishing and buffing various Alfa's over the last 9 years I've got used to lots of different products and what is good and what isn't.

What I want to know is what exactly do they offer for this extortionate price? Is it like the paint hardening offered by some companies or is it just a work experience lad at the dealership waxing your car?

It looks to me that I would be better off going to Halfords and buying one of the Autoglym packs for £50. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...
of which I got three of at their last offer of 3 for 2 on cleaning products (they didn't look impressed at me stood at the desk with three of the packs as the offer is for the cheapest of the three! They had to concede in the end one would have to be offered for nothing!)

Really looking forward to getting the car smile.

I was offered it and initially accepted but then I changed my mind.

Its good for people who dont really look after their car but for people with a passion about cleaning and looking after then the money would be better spent on detailing products which is exactley what I done. I purchased a DAS-6, loads of pads, polish and wax etc with the money I saved.

The kits of the stuff often come up on ebay for about £50 so you could also do it yourself.

Had it on my E60 Msport, but I negotiated it in the price. I have to admit it was really good despite being skeptical , I had the car for 3 years and never needed to polish it once (despite liking to do it). A quick wash and it was as good as new. I watched them do it, and whilst I don't think it should cost £295 they put a lot of effort into it. The interior was like new when I sent it back despite having 5 young children (not all in the car at once!), and having covered over 100k.

Cheers for the replies. I think I'll leave it then and put the cash towards something else. I've got enough cleaning products already so will just continue using them.
