At woodwork and my clutch started slipping in 4th gear. Any way to adjust the clutch slave? Also what do I need to do it if I can. Also any ideas of other things to look at other than motor and tranny mounts? Good source for an aftermarket kit if I need one what have others used din the 4 speed? Car pulls strong in all other gears.

Sorry to be a bringer of bad news, but clutch slipping is usually a sign that you need a new clutch, it won't adjust out.

Agree, but usually it would be more apparant in lower gears, not top.

When pulling away in 1st does it bite high? (as in higher than before)

Sorry, I would have to disagree with that, more likely to notice in the higher gesrs because generally the engine is under more load for more of the time in higher gears and at lower revs, where there may be more torque trying to get channelled through the clutch.

But yes, it won't be much good at tyre smoking emergency starts either.

IIRC, Tony put a Center Force in mine and it takes a hard leg to operate but works fine. I looked on their web site and couldn't find the application listed (for a Mustang II) but I image some other for Ford kit would work. There is a travel adjustment on the slave cylinder end. Grady

So it is all the same as a Mustang II 2.8 clutch then? Sadly no one seems to list them either. Some quick searches on the net doesn't bring up any for a Ford (Merc.) Capri from the era. Would love to have one here and ready to go as I'm off all next week with time to burn and didn't have anything planned to do.

Car still pulls just fine in the first 3 didn't get on any roads going over 60 today that I could see what it was doing in 4th.

Is it hard to get into gear when stopped? That is usually a sign the the clutch is worn and the clutch cylinder can't compensate for the wear.

Noy hard to get in gear at all and pedal feel hasn't drastically changed. Finally found one for a Mustang 2 2.8 but I don't think its right. Anybody have a Luk number for the 4 spped tranny or at east a spline count, diameter and shaft dia?

Good source I didn't know about. Already linked to my favorites. Drove home the 100 or so miles without any slipping whatsoever. Pressed it harder as I got closer to home even a couple full throttles up to the century mark going up. Maybe I got some oil on the clutch??? Seems odd to me.
